Maintenance Helper

About this position

This position is responsible for minor repairs, assisting in maintenance, janitorial functions, and general duties including: Following outlined company guidelines for general work practices and performing assigned duties in accordance with proper safe work practices. This position will assist facilities personnel with the product flow and operational goals to effectively support Fulfillment Operations.

Tasks & Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Maintain facility and equipment for continuous operation and required repairs. • Responsible for minor repairs, assisting in maintenance, janitorial duties, and general duties as assigned. • Adhere to all safety/security procedures and applicable laws. • Cleaning and other Preventative Maintenance tasks for equipment including conveyor systems. • Repair of conveyor belts, motors, rollers, beds and guides. • Assist with Facilities maintenance and repairs including plumbing, lighting, roofing, HVAC and other as needed or directed. • Assists with maintaining inventory of company supplied tools. • Must be willing and able to be certified on powered industrial equipment. • Working at heights of 40ft or more will be required. • Have a general knowledge of the operation of all equipment in the facility. • Performs general facility maintenance such as light bulb replacement, office furniture relocation, plumbing, electrical repairs, etc. • Work various shifts and/or hours as needed to support the facility’s needs. • Overtime/Weekends as needed or directed. • Other duties as instructed by supervision/management.

Required Skills and Competencies: • Adept at analyzing and resolving mechanical and technical issues • Excellent hand and eye coordination skills • Ability to read, recognize, write, and follow applicable numbers and directives (verbal and written) in English • Command of basic math skills to ensure accurate inventory • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule including holidays and weekends as necessary • Command of safety procedures (including lock-out/tag-out) • Frequent bending, lifting, walking, pushing, pulling of freight, standing for long periods of time • Sometimes working in extreme temperatures • Safely utilize manual and electronic operated equipment to transport cartons or other items by means of pushing, pulling, lifting, or carrying Experience and Educational Requirements: • High School Diploma or GED preferred. Will also consider experience and/or military service. • Knowledge in maintenance of equipment and facilities • 0-2 years of experience in a maintenance capacity
